Dimanakah Anda Sekarang?...

Cuba perhatikan perlahan-lahan jari anda. Luruskan ia ke hadapan dalam keadaan terbuka.

Renung dalam-dalam. Kewajipan solat lima waktu jangan diabaikan.

Akhir sekali, renung ibu jari.

Dimanakah anda sekarang???"

RANT : I'm Too Tired To Do Anything But Complain

Most of this week I've had horrible trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Today it has really caught up with me. I'm too tired to do anything, but at the same time I'm bored out of my mind. I was hoping to sleep most of the day however so far I've been unable to fall asleep despite my best attempts. The problem is, I dragged Honey along with me! Haha, poor baby.

I'm tired of people complaining. Of people who take it upon themselves to tell others how bad life is and that you have to take it.

I'm tired of the office gossip and politics that try to dictate that you have to smile at someone when they walk by, then throw daggers at them as soon as they pass.

I'm tired of venting sessions of people at work and in groups because its supposed to feel good to "get it all out".

I'm tired of people who say they're good, but their actions are bad.

I'm tired of companies who say employees are their number one priority, but wont think twice about slashing them to increase profit margin.

I'm tired of those people who complain and say they have no choice but to stay in the bad situation.

I'm tired because people and companies do have a choice.

You choose whether or not to talk about someone behind their back, which makes the workplace terrible.

You choose to work at a company, regardless of your personal situation, you can also choose to work elsewhere.

You choose to complain about something that you can't control, making it a waste of breath and energy, not to mention everyone else's time.

You choose to complain about something you can control, but choose not to do anything about it because its the easy way out.

You choose not tell the person that you love, that you love them because you assume they know.

You assume your parents know that you appreciate them raising you and helped get you where you are today.

You assume that "insert occupation here" doesn't deserve whatever raise they are fighting for, because its not you getting the money.

You assume that someone will make your life better, give you a helping hand or its someone else's responsibility.

You assume someone else will make the next pot of coffee, when you took the last cup.

You assume the person that cut you off is a jerk, but when you do it you were justified.

You assume the person that just let you in their traffic lane knows that you appreciate it, or it was their duty too.

You ask "How are you" but don't really want a care for a response other than "fine".

I'm TIRED of people who CHOOSE to ASSUME that life has to be negative.

This is for all the people in this world who want to enjoy their lives, that wont stand up and say: STOP THE F**K UP!

Some of us want to enjoy this thing we call life.

Work Your Life people, no one else will!

Sincerely,
Acid

Monday Blues, Still?

YAWN, really feel like sleeping today at work. Maybe it was because of the morning Nasi Lemak I had for breakfast. Don't feel like writting anything today. Dunno. Maybe I'm still pretty much in yesterday's monday blues. Woke up ridiculously early, but managed to snatch a 30-minute snooze while lying in bed. Sedar2, Hani kejut. Tengok2 jam dah pukul 7.45. Damn! I'm late for my 8.30-o'clock appointment at Jln Ipoh and another meeting with our consultant at KLCC an hour after. Luckily, I was fairly just on time. God bless the Penchala Link! As for yesterday, I had a nice lazy monday, as all boring mondays should be. Good thing is, I was able to complete 3 waiting jobs I had mounting on my table for the last 2 weeks. And hey, pay is in! So, I might as well take my baby out for a real candle light dinner tonight! Haha... that would be nice. Enjoy!

With Arms Wide Open

"Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is going to change
I closed my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open..."

Ari ni aku ngan Hani pi carik kelengkapan utk our upcoming newborn baby. Aku takut kalau lambat2 nanti beli barang2 baby ni, karang Hani dah tak larat plak nak jalan2 gi shopping & semua tu. Maklum la, perut dah makin sarat, dah masuk 8 bulan. Alhamdulillah, setakat ni keadaan Hani ok cuma kengkadang tu kalau jalan, dia cepat rasa lenguh & penat. Tak nak nanti timbul stretch mark plak. Stretch mark ni is caused by the skin stretching due to the sudden gain of weight. Normal la benda ni during pregnancy. They are tiny tears in the dermis that are scars and can vary in color from light pink to dark purple. Paling penting for those who have concern about this, over a very long period of time, usually years, stretch marks can fade in color, but the scars remain. So for precaution, beli je la cream kat farmasi tu just in case. Yang aku beli kat Guardian baru ni "Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula w/ vitamin E". Rega dia lebih kurang RM35 in case korang nak preppare utk wife korang lak nanti during pregnancy.

Since ramai ahli MDC yang advise aku suh pi beli barang2 baby ni kat Sinar Kota, so kitorg pi la sana. Memang betul cam diorg kate, kat sini byk gak barang2 baby, harga pon not bad. In fact chatters kat MDC are kind enough to give me a list of things to buy which was a big help and very much ease our shopping there. Thanks guys! :-

For Mother:
1) Clothings - enough for a few days stay in the hospital
2) Bra & panties
3) Sanitary napkins - provided by the hospitals, can bring ur own if u want to.
4) Toiletries set + towel ..etc
5) Cardigan, socks - coz it's cold
6) Batik
7) I/C and surat dr gynea.

For Baby:
1) New born baby clothes
2) Mittens & booties
3) A small blanket
4) New born cap
5) Bedak baby
6) Barut baby/mummy
7) Kelambu
8) Lapik getah
9) Tisu wipes
10) Lampin disposables
11) Baju/seluar panjang lubang2
12) Rompers
13) Kapas
14) Besen mandi
15) Safety pin
16) Powder puff container
17) Cotton Budd
18) Small Towel

For Father: ni extra, but I think u'll want to bring it as well.
1) books - waiting can be quite long for first baby
2) cam coder/camera to catch the beautiful moments
3) credit card/enough cash/GL

Dulu aku pon tak tahu menatang ape rompers tuh. But hey, in each stage of life you always learn something along the way right? That's just how it works. And to all of you first timer fathers and mothers out there, my advice, jgn beli baju/seluar banyak sangat sebab baby cepat membesar. So, kalau boleh, beli baju yang besar sket. Jgn beli yg kecik sangat especially yg newborn clothes tu. And thanx to Ayzan for the info. 31hb ni ada Pureen punye warehouse sales kat Seks 19, PJ. Boleh la beli apa2 yg patut nanti to complete the list. Interesting weekend huh? Yeah, you bet!
Take care y'all,...
Wassalam.

Haiyaaa, Dun La Cry Cry,... Laughter The Best Medicine

Alaaaa bucuk, bucukkk... merajuk sampai dah nak nampak muncung dah tuhhh! Isk, isk, isk... siannye. Well, I guess I won't be posting anything for the weekend itself (as always!) until I'm online again next week. So, while you guys are at this, one joke won't hurt aite? Enjoy!

Cheers,
Acid

A middle age woman decides to have a face lift for her birthday. She spends $5000 and feels pretty good about the results.

On her way home, she stops at a news stand to buy a newspaper. Before leaving she says to the clerk, "I hope you don't mind my asking, but how old do you think I am?" "About 32," was the reply. "I'm exactly 47," the woman says happily.

A little while later she goes into McDonald's and asks the counter girl the very same question. She replies, "I guess about 29." The woman replies, "Nope, I'm 47." Now she's feeling really good about herself.

She stops in a drug store on her way down the street. She goes up to the counter to get some mints and asks the clerk this burning question. The clerk responds, "Oh, I'd say 30." Again she proudly responds, "I am 47, but thank you."

While waiting for the bus to go home, she asks an old man the same question. He replies, "Lady, I'm 78 and my eyesight is going. Although, when I was young, there was a sure way to tell how old a woman was. It sounds very forward, but it requires you to let me put my hands under your bra. Then I can tell you exactly how old you are."

They waited in silence on the empty street until curiosity got the best of her. She finally blurts out, "What the hell, go ahead."

He slips both of his hands under her blouse and under her bra and begins to feel around very slowly and carefully. After a couple of minutes of this, she said, "Okay, okay,... how old am I?" He completes one last squeeze of her breasts and removes his hands and says, "Madam, you are exactly 47 years old."

Stunned and amazed, the woman says, "That was incredible,... how did you know?"

The old man replies, "Promise you won't get mad?"

"No", she said.

So he replied, "I was behind you in line at McDonald's."

Tok Guru - From ICU to Angioplasty : A Relief

Tok Guru being treated at the Perdana Specialist Hospital intensive care unit after suffering chest pains, July 22. (For the note, photo is censored in respect to human rights).

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Julai - Menteri Besar Kelantan, Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat selamat menjalani pembedahan Angiogram serta Angioplasty di Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM) Kubang Kerian awal pagi tadi. Keadaan beliau dilaporkan stabil.

Nik Adli dibenarkan melawat kedua-dua ibu bapanya selama setengah jam.

Beliau dilaporkan kepenatan akibat mempengerusikan mesyuarat Exco Kerajaan Negeri Rabu lalu.

Kejor Yoep Kejor

Date : 17th July, 2004
Time : 12.30 pm
Venue : Sabak Bernam

It's weekend, and I'm on the road AGAIN! This time you'll find me in the northern Malaysia state of Perak. Aku & Hani bersama2 dgn mak & ayah mertua aku, The Taufiks (Abg Topek, Kak Anne, Mina & Elman), The Zahers (Abg Zaher, Kak Ida & Ecah), Kamal, Anjah & Hanum bertolak ke Sabak Bernam sempena majlis perkahwinan Ayah Bin.

Selamat Pengantin Baru!

Date : 17th July, 2004
Time : 3.30 pm
Venue : Teluk Intan

Lps je majlis, kitorg ke Teluk Intan. As you can see, ni Teluk Intan punye landmark - Menara Condong Teluk Intan. A quick history. You know I hate history aite? (Memandangkan ayah mertua aku bekas cikgu Sejarah, I don't have much choice do I?) When it was first built in 1885, it was then known as the Clock Tower-mainly because of its function of telling the time, a role which is still maintained sehingga hari ini. When nature takes its course however, the tower leaned over to the west side, thus earning the name Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan, taking the cue from the famous leaning tower in pisa, Italy.

Ripley's Believe It Or Not!

Aiyaaa, bau camni Fear Factor pon kantoi beb! Korang ingat tak iklan Indah Water. Haaa, ni la tempat shooting iklan tersebut. Menurut sumber2 yg boleh dipercayai, citer Labu Labi pon shooting kat sini jugak! Menurut Abg Taufik, tandas tu banyak kenangan sebab tempat tu la port Tok Mail (my late granpa in-law. Al-fatihah) baca surat kabar. Cam mini library la lebih kurang! Bukan cam skarang, tandas dulu semua jenis yang manual. Bile dah full dlm dia punye tong tu, kene angkut pi buang sendiri. Imagine now, doing that!

Signing off for the weekend,
Regards people!

31 Weeks

So, what's up with my little fetus this week? Well, our little one is nearly three pounds already and growing. The early laguno is dissapearing, the eyelids open and close, and the toenails are growing. The bone marrow is now responsible for red blood cell production like mine and yours. Didn't I told you that he had started kicking? Look like he is big enough to let loose a swift kick and let mommy and perhaps even daddy know that he is doing well and clamoring for more space! Maybe it was a penalty kick, who knows? Whatever it is, I'm sure my boy here took it lot better than Beckham! Haha... Can't get enough of football huh?

Honey is doing much better so far. A whole lot better than the first and second trimester with no morning sickness, and except for some fatigue and being hungry most of the time, this experience of first-time motherhood has been a total delight. And guess what, she FINALLY got rid of the so-called 'sun-pregnant-allergy' as well! Thank god. The only thing that her gynist told her to take care of is her level of sugar. With diabetic history on her dad's side, she is prone to get it also if not taken care of especially during pregnancy which is, as a matter of fact much more easier to get than those who's not.

Since I have missed the opportunity to blog a few weeks of the pregnancy, when a lot of the truly amazing development happens (remember development from high-school biology? That grainy film of the egg dividing, with the earnest voice over, and the names like zygote, morula, and blastocoel. Well, trust me... it suddenly becomes interesting when it is occuring in someone you truly love!!!), I'll try to post it in the next week or so on in my blog.

Still cramming our heads doing some 'mix & match' for our baby's name. 7 months and 3 weeks? That aint too long considering that the due is in September, insya allah. My mom suggested that we use the initial WFH or WHF for our child, which stands for Fahimi and Hani respectively. Was kind of a good idea actually. I remember my mom telling me that after I was born, my dad wanted to named me, Fahmi. But soon both of my parents especially my mom thought that it was too common during that time. Go and find a book and I'm sure you won't find Fahimi in it. Just plain Fahmi. And yeah, I guess they were right. I love my name! Hopefully, my baby-to-be will love his too!!!
Until then, enjoy!

We were once children and someone took care of us.
Now it's our turn to care..."

Kulim : Reloaded

FINALLY, I get to upload the photos during my trip last week during Hakim's registration in Politeknik Kulim. Left Damansara at about 11 in the morning, took a quick 30 minutes drive to send Farah to UPM and headed north using the NKVE which cost me nearly 100 bucks both ways! Talking about Projek Kerajaan Untuk Rakyat! Sigh...

5 hours on the road and we reached Kulim. Pekan Kulim remind me of my late granma's place in Pasir Putih where I would cycle with my bro, Fikri every Thursday to its own Pasar Minggu. It aint much different here in Kulim. We were impressed the moment we reached our hotel at Sri Malaysia with the new and big, classic building. It's not that it was that BIG compared to other hotels in Malaysia but wasn't expecting such since the Sri Malaysias in other states of the country especially Kuantan and Terengganu was rather a bit simpler.

This one was not too bad considering the price for the family room 2+1 with the pool view by the window which was worth the pay. ( Faqih was the one who was expecting the pool, of course! At least, he wasn't dissapointed!!! ) Only the breakfast was a bit dissapointing but since it was our first day in Kulim, we weren't counting too much on the lousy hotel breakfast anyway with the fact that Restoran Nasi Kandar Pelita was just a few steps away.

We arrived at Politeknik Kulim at about 11:30am and the weather was treating us so bad that we had to wait for Hakim at the mosque while he went for his registration - along with a crowd of 800 students! That kinda reflected how strong his passion for mechanical engineering is since he also received an offer from UiTM doing Polymer Technology. In the end, the dude finally decided to go for Politeknik since he did 2 years mechanical in Teknik. I guess he's not about to throw those 2 precious years all away! Looking at the buildings, I can see that the place is still newly constructed with its nice, big buildings, mosque, labs, hostels and all. It was almost like deja-vu, the same kind of feeling I had during the first time I stepped into UNITEN (IKATAN, back then) upon my registration couple of years back. Make me wonder how's this place is gonna look like in 4 to 5 years time.

I guess that ends both of my blogs for the weekend. Was suppose to update on this last week but had a long delay in uploading the photos. Last but not least, to Hakim ... Best Wishes From Us! Looks like the Hamads is expecting another engineer in the family, Insya allah. Good Luck! May Allah be with you always, Amin.

Cold, Rainy Weekend - Just How I Like It!

Greetings people! Nothing much happened during the weekend. Just normal stuff back in our crib in Damansara. It was raining though, just what I needed for a good and nice morning sleep! Kinda went to bed late last night with me and Honey giving some ideas of what's our baby's name gonna be. Received a visit from an old friend or may I say, a family friend - Ajin and his girlfriend, Zura.

Actually, this guy was my schoolmate back in school '90 -'92. Back then, little did we know that both of our parents were in fact close friends when they were in London. So, in the end it was like a family reunion thing, the so-called Jejak Kasih you can say. In fact, we were born in the same hospital in Camden - The Royal Camden Hospital! Can you imagine that? (Lucky we didn't shared the same tali pusat though!

Right now Ajin is doing his Internship Program in Cyberjaya at MDC after coming back from Melbourne early this year. Heard that he'll be engaged next month and followed by their Big Day at the end of the year. Ahamdulillah. Hopefully everything will work as planned. All The Best!

Before I forget, congratulations to Abg Taufik for his new job - a lecturer at ITTAR, PJ! He was over for lunch and my sayang served us Ayam Masak Kurma which tasted so superbly amazing! Thanx dear. Abg Taufik needs to get a few pants for his new work place so we went to KL, met my in-laws, bought a few clothes and dine at Kg. Baru courtesy of my mother in law.

That's all folks, I might post my last week's visit to Kulim in here tomorrow. Have A Nice Weekend People!

No condoms please, I have a handphone!

A study conducted in Hungary has confirmed that leaving your mobile phone in your pocket willl cause your balls to rot. The study suggests that the radiation from a phone on a belt or in their pocket, even on standby, is enough to have an effect on both sperm count, and the mobility of surviving sperm.

The study, which looked at 221 men, compared the sperm count of men who carried a handset for most of the day with the sperm of those who did not own a phone.

Dr Imre Fejes of the University of Szeged in Hungary led the research. He reported that the average sperm counts of men who were very active phone users was around 59 million per millilitre of seminal fluid, compared with 83 million for the men without phones.

My god, it gives me the jitters now that all along since I first have my handphone, I always keep it in between my crotch close to my balls while driving my daily routine journey for years. But hey on another note, if we don't keep it in our pockets, then where else can we keep them? Back pocket? Somehow I feel that someone is gonna come up with another buttocks problem from too much "magnetic field" on their ass.

p/s : Perhaps that explains why the so called modern yuppies in urban areas have less kids - men always carry their handsets 24/7!!!! Family planning eh?

Awat lamoo senyappp? hang ni pi manooo???

Haha, feels so good after a long break! Was in Kulim for the weekend; on leave on Monday and yesterday. Just what I needed to get rid of the Monday blues! Me along with my mom, Hani and youngest bro, Faqih went there to send my bro, Hakim registering for his study at Politeknik Kulim. Took us about nearly 5 hours drive there. SMSed a few friends to get the direction there. Even SMS yanz since her Cybron outstation trips does require her to travel to that side of the country though I knew that she was on her way to Singapore. The road wasn't that bad after all but the tolls was RIDICULOUSLY HIGH! All together it cost me nearly 100 RMs for the tolls alone. Believe me, that's as much as I was paying for my petrol back and fourth there. Snapped some photos there but didnt get the chance to transfer it from the camera. Give me a couple of days and I'll take care of that ya? Kulim's been extemely hot and i mean, HOTTTT... which makes me and my wife think about our schooling days in SMSAH which is in another part of Kedah itself - Jitra.

So, Greece won the EURO2004 eh? Not sure what to say but hey, after all those stuffs that just happened during EURO2004, I wasn't too surprised after all. I must say, I saw it coming. In fact, I was actually expecting them to win to justify my theory. 'Soccer - This time around, is for the underdogs'! Same what happened during the Champions League anyway!

Today I got an email from a long-lost friend - Fahmi. Mamat ni lepas pi blaja kat Jepun, tak reti2 nak balik! Kelik la weiii!Oh yeah, saw Beck in MPH yesterday. He was buying a book. Guess what, here's a snap...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!

Not that he's likely to read this but today is my dad's 53th Birthday! Funny how time slips away so fast. The last time we celebrated his birthday together was like 6 years back. Knowing him, he never remembers his birthday and stuffs. Everytime when my sister Farah or even my brothers told him about his birthday, he will go like, "Birthday Babah? Ye ker?". But today, since he's so far away we gotta settle with just a call. And since my mom, sis and bros was at my house for the weekend, we all sang to him on the phone and again, he went, "Birthday ari ni? Ye ker?". Haha, that's my daddy!

This was a pic taken in Camden when I was four. Again, funny how time slips away sooo fast! Ouchhh, miss you BAD!

Lusa

Aiseh, no offense but I never thought that the title of the movie The Day After Tomorrow would sound so humdrum when translated to Malay - Lusa. Kelakor je masa kitorg tengok title tu kuar kat wayang semalam. Lusa? Malam tadi aku & Hani pi GSC Mid Valley, tengok wayang courtesy of Cybron's CTMRC. Antara kengkawan yang hadir :- Lin, Yan, Modar, Ayzan, Liza, Kak Ian, Dana, Ko & wife, Abang Zam & wife, Heng, Woan Chin & ramai lagi la. Tak larat nak type semua. Anyway, the movie was quite inspiring! And guess what? New York was toasted again! ( I'm not surprised! )Was amazed with the effects and all especially the big wave and the one when the building got frozen just like that! The theory was not bad either. Make me think about hari kiamat and stuffs. Bekal pon takde lagi ni. Pasni balik bertaubat laa...

TOLD YA! Portugal went to the finals after beating the dutchs, 2-1. Holland's fans are crestfallen - especially catwoman at the back.
