Kulim : Reloaded
FINALLY, I get to upload the photos during my trip last week during Hakim's registration in Politeknik Kulim. Left Damansara at about 11 in the morning, took a quick 30 minutes drive to send Farah to UPM and headed north using the NKVE which cost me nearly 100 bucks both ways! Talking about Projek Kerajaan Untuk Rakyat! Sigh...
5 hours on the road and we reached Kulim. Pekan Kulim remind me of my late granma's place in Pasir Putih where I would cycle with my bro, Fikri every Thursday to its own Pasar Minggu. It aint much different here in Kulim. We were impressed the moment we reached our hotel at Sri Malaysia with the new and big, classic building. It's not that it was that BIG compared to other hotels in Malaysia but wasn't expecting such since the Sri Malaysias in other states of the country especially Kuantan and Terengganu was rather a bit simpler.
This one was not too bad considering the price for the family room 2+1 with the pool view by the window which was worth the pay. ( Faqih was the one who was expecting the pool, of course! At least, he wasn't dissapointed!!! ) Only the breakfast was a bit dissapointing but since it was our first day in Kulim, we weren't counting too much on the lousy hotel breakfast anyway with the fact that Restoran Nasi Kandar Pelita was just a few steps away.
We arrived at Politeknik Kulim at about 11:30am and the weather was treating us so bad that we had to wait for Hakim at the mosque while he went for his registration - along with a crowd of 800 students! That kinda reflected how strong his passion for mechanical engineering is since he also received an offer from UiTM doing Polymer Technology. In the end, the dude finally decided to go for Politeknik since he did 2 years mechanical in Teknik. I guess he's not about to throw those 2 precious years all away! Looking at the buildings, I can see that the place is still newly constructed with its nice, big buildings, mosque, labs, hostels and all. It was almost like deja-vu, the same kind of feeling I had during the first time I stepped into UNITEN (IKATAN, back then) upon my registration couple of years back. Make me wonder how's this place is gonna look like in 4 to 5 years time.
I guess that ends both of my blogs for the weekend. Was suppose to update on this last week but had a long delay in uploading the photos. Last but not least, to Hakim ... Best Wishes From Us! Looks like the Hamads is expecting another engineer in the family, Insya allah. Good Luck! May Allah be with you always, Amin.
