MPC-ERS Asia Pacific Distributor Meeting 2006, Hainan, China

Image hosting by Photobucket

Rasulullah, beliau pernah berpesan, "Menuntut ilmu biar sampai ke negeri cina". Well, al least I've fulfilled that already. Skang aku dah takyah sibuk2 nak sambung master ke phD ke. Aku dah sampai ke cina! Hehe... Was there for the MPC-ERS Meeting. We have partnership with MPC for the last 26 years old. Even got an award for that, really. Some recognition eh? And annually they will have this Asia Pacific distributor meeting for in-house training and award presentations. And this year's meeting was held in Sanya, China which was also where they held last year's Miss World! (I'm thrilled!).

I must say that Guangzhou International is the most busiest airport I've ever been. This is like the gateway to all of the parts in China where you have to get connecting flights to Beijing, Hong Kong, Hainan and all. Imagine China's population for crying out loud!

There's even an electric carts handy for those people chasing for their late check-ins, those with excessive luggages, old people and those who don't mind spending RMB20 for a ride. About RM10 here in Malaysia. That's not too bad eh?

The temperature was 22 degrees centigrade when I arrived. But when I left it was a freezing degrees centigrade due to the heavy snow in Beijing and all. And it's even chillier with the wind. Some abrupt temperature changes you have here in China.

This is one of the shop in Guangzhou International which caught my eyes. Reminds me how my dudes back home during my study time would pronounce 'bengong', as in idiot. AND there's a shop right here in the airport selling fruits and chocs called by that name. Let's have a closer look...

Here is one of the photos I took at a place called Border Of Heaven, End Of the Sky, forgot how they pronounce it in chinese though. They say that this place is where heaven would be after the hereafter.

And here is the rock which they believe is the great pillar of the sky which holds the sky all this while. Nice scenaries here I must say.

Aside from Hainan Chicken (which apparently was my daily menu there, being a muslim. NO MORE NASI AYAM FOR ME!) Hainan and even China as a whole is well known for their pearls and crystals especially in Sanya which is pretty much sold there as souvenirs.

You can find a lot of local muslims here selling stuffs. There's almost 80% of the women and ladies in the bazaar itself wearing scarfs. But a word of caution about those bazaar women. They will follow you from the entry of the bazaar, promoting their pearls, crystals or anything until you walk out of the bazaar. Some would even follow you up to your bus! And I guess Steve was one of their victim that day.

Sanya not being the right place to buy many made-in-Chinas, is also well known for its green tea and damn hot pepper! Pedas gila wa cakap lu. Berasapppp...

Overall, the meeting went on fine with lots of new innovations and latest technology for solution provider and all. The schedule was a bit tight though considering you have to get up at least 7.30am for breakfast and then rush to get ready to be seated in the meeting by 8.30 until 6.00pm. Then, go up to your room, take a shower and wait at the lobby before 7pm for dinner. In China, Maghrib prayer is at 6.10pm. The first day of the meeting lps lunch ingat nak naik bilik jap smayang jamak zohor-asar. Tapi since perut dah boyot sangat, rasa maleh la plak. Karang lps smayang karang, 'selamat' terus kang. So tunggu la smpai meeting habis at 6, minum jap baru naik atas. Masa tu dah 6.30 smtg. So konfiden je masuk bilik and then amik air smayang. Tetiba handphone bunyik, ada msg masuk. Mesti dari EASY ACCESS ni. Dari tghari tadi aku request utk waktu solat kat china ni. Skang baru nak dapat. Skali tengok2, dah ponn masuk Maghrib! So, kira burn je la. Instead I prayed jamak for maghrib-asar. Abeh citer. Kul 6 lebih kat sana dah cam nak masuk senja kalau tempat kita.

Damn, these guys really make me look short man!

On the last night after dinner we went to one of the China shop in town to get some ole-ole to take back home. There were this two chinese girls who are very keen on knowing which country am I from. Consulting a chinese friend, it happen that those two girls are willing to change their money for our RM. Since there was hardly any big RM cash in my wallet, I could only find two RM1 notes. And they like it very, very much as I handed over those notes to them.
