Gambar ni diambil sebelum majlis kenduri di mana pengantin lelaki tampak bergaya menggayakan keris tamingsari walaupon panahan mentari rakus membakari rambut2 yang tidak ditutupi tengkolok. Peluh belakang citer laaa... heh...

Is There Such Thing As A "Belated Open House", People?

Salam Aidilfitri! Still very much in the raya mood eh? Yeah, I guess so. With loads and clashing open houses' invitations to fulfill plus packets of angpows to fill in too, for that matter; raya is still very much in the air. It's alive, it's alive!

Ramai gak kengkawan & officemate yang tanya bila nak buat open house bla bla. Looking at the calendar, it's almost impossible to squeeze in anything in this one-month celebrated ocassion. With friends' & families' open houses invitations, weddings,... I much doubt it, really.

1st Raya Weekend (5th - 6th Nov) - Flew back to KL from KB, raya belah Hani plak. Visited some relatives and close friends

2nd Raya Weekend (12th - 13th Nov) - Punk kawin. Flew back to KB with Zaki & Thina. Open houses GONE for Hani & Danish. Left my wife and son at my in-laws'

3rd Raya Weekend (19th - 20th Nov) - The 1st time we are attending open houses invitations, loads of em', you bet! Too many that we had to actually narrow down and sadly, cancel a few houses according to time and road loop. (Sorry!) Bukan tak sudi tapi coz of time constraint & traffic jem due to the heavy rain. Nak kena jaga jugak Danish punye tido and all kalau ye nak jalan pon or else I'll come to the office tomorrow morning with those big sacks under my eyes!

4th Raya Weekend (26th - 27th Nov) - Family dari KB datang berkampung kat my crib due to my cousin's wedding in Shah Alam, Zaki's Open house

Last Raya Weekend (3rd - 4th Dec) - Ayoi; ex-housemate kawin kat PD, Adik Zura kawin kat Jln Kebun, Abun; ex-schoolmate kawin kat Keramat, Open houses invitations...

6th December - Annivesary!

8th December - Mum gi haji.

Fuhhh, memang tak sempat nak buat any open house during those weekends. Tapi memang nak ajak jugak kengkawan datang umah. Bukan open house la kot, just a simple makan2 invitation. Kalau nak tunggu weekend, by the time I'll be able to gather all my friends and officemates, raya pon dah basi dah. Maybe kena buat a different day for different friend groups. My house pon ciput jer nak ajak smua datang skali. Serius cakap!

Anyway, tengok la camne. To all my friends, jangan risau gua akan panggil gak mai umah nanti, insya allah. Apa2hal, I'll keep you updated! Take care.

Four Fathers & Their Sons

Damn, Mondays just don't get any better! The bad traffic, the sleeping sensation you get especially when you wake up and you see your wife and son terbongkang next to you! Kena plak Si Danish tu tgh aksi gaya bebas. Mamat tu kalu tido, memang macam2 gaya. Space orang pon abeh nak diconquernya... Isk, isk isk... Don't feel much like blogging today. Here's something I got from my email. Check this out...

Four friends, who hadn't seen each other in 30 years, reunited at a party. After several drinks, one of the men had to use the rest room. Those who remained talked about their kids.

The first guy said, "My son is my pride and joy. He started working at a successful company at the bottom of the barrel. He studied Economics and Business Administration and soon began to climb the corporate ladder and now he's the president of the company".

"He became so rich that he gave his best friend a top of the line Mercedes for his birthday."

The second guy said, "Darn, that's terrific! My son is also my pride and joy. He started working for a big airline, then went to flight school to become a pilot. Eventually he became a partner in the company, where he owns the majority of its assets. He's so rich that he gave his best friend a brand new jet for his birthday."

The third man said: "Well, that's terrific! My son studied in the best universities and became an engineer. Then he started his own construction company and is now a multimillionaire. He also gave away something very nice and expensive to his best friend for his birthday: A 30,000 square foot mansion."

The three friends congratulated each other just as the fourth returned from the restroom and asked: "What are all the congratulations for?"

One of the three said: "We were talking about the pride we feel for the successes of our sons... What about your son?"

The fourth man replied: "My son is gay and makes a living dancing as a stripper at a nightclub."

The three friends said: "What a shame...what a disappointment. "The fourth man replied: "No, I'm not ashamed".

"He's my son and I love him. And he hasn't done too bad either".

"His birthday was two weeks ago, and he received a beautiful 30,000 square foot mansion, a brand new jet and a top of the line Mercedes from his three boyfriends."

Haha, that's quite something isn't it? Don't know la camne lak my pride and joy nanti? Hopefully, he'll be a good person, Insya Allah.

Well, well. Was too busy to update my blog even during the raya. Even an important event such as the raya eve. If we the grown-ups are busy in the fitting room trying on every baju raya we've just swipped with our mastercard, or busy helping mummy and daddy prepparing juadah raya in the kitchen, or tengah filling up those angpows with duit raya or even yang tengah queue up kat masjid sebab last minit baru terhegeh2 nak bayar zakat. Let's see what this two children are up to during that very same moment.

Takyah sibuk2 pening kepala nak bayar zakat la, pening kepala nak cari baju raya sebelum supermarket tutup la, pening kepala pikir nak balik KL dengan apa sebab tiket bas dah abeh la... and the list goes on. It's nice to be kids again aite? Haha, dream on people! I'm outta here!!!

THE PUNK WHO GOT HITCHED

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

NOPE! This is not just any ordinary punk. This is the punk-not-dead Punk, The I-know what-I-want-and-I'm-gonna-go-for-it-whether-you-like-it-or-not kinda Punk : Zaki's and my ex-room mate which turned out to be Thina's, Suri's and Wan Zul's ex-hommies as well. Shared lots of laughters and tears... Tears? Hmphh... let me think again and rephrase that. Ok, ok... perhaps not tears (air liur basi can la kot!heh,...)... but lots of ups and downs, I bet. Tul tak Kie? During our kopak IUPUI-UNITEN study years, we went thru heck of a time and plenty of those hard times together till there was once where we had to makan nasik dalam plastik bag? Yeah people, those red or blue plastics you get when you buy your stuffs or groceries and never cared much about; that most of you would just dump it in the garbish bin! The one that orang kelate panggil 'Supek', or 'Supek Rok-rak'. Mummy's serunding, and frozen sambal ikan bilis were our only hope for survival. (Sadis abes!)We also had the chance to eat nasi bungkus dalam polystrene having the polystrene tu cut into two where one would take the upper part and one would take the lower... washed it with soap, rinsed it and let it dry for us to use it again for our next meal or dinner; having no plate whatsoever due to our 'kekopakan' yg teramat dasyat. Sampaikan Suri's girlfriend, Nani who heard about it couldn't help it but felt sorry for us and bought us a plate each. Uwaaaaaa! ( Thank you Nani, if you're reading this! )

That's just to citer a few of those times. I think if you've gone thru such kinda moments with a friend, or even with a girlfriend for that matter, then the bond just gets stronger day by day. Well, yeah... he's a very close friend of ours, indeed. So close that we have to save our budget for raya to pay AirAsia a couple of bucks to get a flight on the day of his wedding, and the next day's night flight home. Plus for me, I had to leave Hani and Danish at my in-law's to board the first flight to KB with Zaki and Thina. And not to forget Thina; being the early one to reach KLIA, boarding the evening flight from KB, ( Biasa la AirAsia... ) got home using the ERL, took a commuter at KL Central to Klang, reached home and after a few hours drove back to KLIA to come and fetch us! Yayyyy... That's how close.

Kepada Mohd Azkari Munif & Nurul Ezah,
Selamat Pengantin Baru dari kami semua dan Selamat Meninggalkan Alam Gersang! Aku rasa aku tau who's next on the list! Hahaha, no surprise there. Tapi takpe, gua sokong. Sesungguhnya bila orang Islam itu berkahwin maka dia telah melengkapkan separuh dari agamanya, Amin.

And yeah Punk, too bad,... wife lu bukan dentist, tp doktor kat surgery, kalu tak she might be a help to your horror teeth-cracking-sound at night! Hahaha... Jadi suami yg baek and make sure you don't ever, ever bagi bini lu and anak2 lu makan dalam 'supek lagi, ever! Just let those memories be a motivation and inspiration to our genes eh?

p/s:
