All About A Boy

Cis, Chelsea menang lagi! Hmphhh, Sabtu baru ni aku baru balik dari Ipoh. Yeah, you guessed right... outstation! Ada seminar kat Hotel Seri Malaysia from Thurs to Sat.

YM with atok just now. Is it just me or what? Korang perasan tak. Biasanye kalau Jumaat, hari panas semacam je. Memang dari dulu lagi aku prasan. Tak tau la korang pulak. Mungkin ujian tuhan ke atas mamat2 yg nak pi smayang jumaat, kasi goyang sket! Ntah laa.

Khamis depan outstation KB lak 4,5 hari. Balik kampung yaayyyy! It would be a good thing since semenjak dua menjak ni my mum asyik call cakap terbayang2 n terpandang2 muka cucu dia yang sorang tu! Tambah pulak adik aku tengah sibuk nak planning persiapan2 kawin this coming June. He could use some advice from his big brother aite? Memang aku ingat nak balik pon bulan 3 ni bila mummy asyik sebut pasal Danish je manjang. Tetiba masa kat Ipoh tu dapat call dari people kat USM. Diorang nak buat workshop kat New Pacific Hotel and nak aku jadik instuctor in one of the session there. Hmphhh, I guess god heard my prayers and made my balik kampung trip this time a fully sponsored one! Molek benar laa tu adik kakok wehhh...

Got to settle something, leave you with some posses of the boy which made my mum lovesick. Sudah lawan tauke anak aku nih. Hehe, enjoy!

"I'm a Gerber boy!"

Yeah fellas, you read that right. And that was no typo error... Gerber, and not Berger. In case you're wondering and starting to go nuts about what the heck is this Gerber thing,... so, let me just paste this thing out and save my time for explanation eh?

There...

Now you know! Yeah, he's 5 months plus now and our parents suggested that this may be a good time to slowly add some solid foods to his diet as his daily appetite is increasing more and more. Honey was the one who suggested that we try Gerber and see if Danish would love it. I was like, "Ger what dear?". So we went to TESCO and checked it out. Frankly, in times like this, I'm thankul that Honey seems to handle this like a pro. She just knows what is best, even when it comes to something as simple as a teat. It helped me look like a pro myself although we are both dealing with our first child with me being blur and clueless most of the time. I guess, her self interest and love for kids especially her experience handling her two nieces and nephew before we had our own baby had come in handy after all. Mothers know best eh? So, we searched the shelves and once again my wife had impressed me. She pointed to one of the Gerber boxes on one of the top shelf, gesturing me to take it for her. I asked, "Out of all these Gerber stuffs up here, why this one?". She replied shortly, "Single-ingredient cereals make a perfect introduction... plus veggie for a healthier diet!" (Note that most babies tolerate rice cereal the best. Funny I knew that eh? Nah, don't start!) Loooove you dear!

Oooo, this is good stuff mom and dad! Want some Aunty Yan?

And thanks god, he loved it! At first he blurted it out. Maybe the taste seems funny to him since he hasn't tasted anything aside from milk and air suam. After a while his face turned into a real confused one and Honey gave him one more tablespoon. Then walla, he just got excited. Once he got the hang of it, he opened his mouth wide for the spoon. Now everytime we fed him, he starts moving the food backward with his tongue, showing off his sucking skills and even putting his hands in his mouth while he eats to help learn to swallow. Haha, looks like Danish is starting to explore a whole new world of taste sensations for the first time. And we're so glad that he loved it!

I want some moreeee!!!

Some tips on how do you know if your baby is ready?

Let him tell you. The right time isn't based solely on your baby's age. It's based on the following physical and developmental signs of readiness. Discuss with your doctor when your baby is ready. He may be ready to begin solids when he can do all of the following:

-Sits with support and has good head control,
-Has doubled birth weight and weighs at least 13 pounds, and...
-continues to be hungry after 8 to 10 breast feedings or drinks 32 ounces of formula a day.

Pssssttt,... do you know? Babies are born knowing how much they need to eat to grow and thrive?

Extremely Hectic

SAMARINDA MUSIM BARU FEAT. WAN DANISH HAIQAL! Haha, Danish with Uncle Hisham during last raya!

Just posted up that pic just for the benefit of having a photo somewhere up in my entry. Well, the title explains it all. I've been really busy and things have been hectic lately.

I don't really remember everything that's been going on lately. But I've been doing okay overall I guess. I've been feeling better lately, I was sorta down and under pressure a few weeks ago. The long CNY break had kinda helped to balance things a little bit. I guess I did a lot of thinking about the future and my life in general. There are areas of good potential but it's just that, potential. Who knows what will come of anything nowadays?

Haven't really seen many of my friends lately as they've been busy as well. I can also tell from their blogs and slowness to post they must be living hectic lives as well. Only was able to see Yan with her new braces... and not forgetting her so-called bubur nasi! Damn, I can't believe she ate that!!! Haha...

I love Friday! Happy weekend people...

Danish and Aunty Ha

Still can't believe that my one and only sister is now Aunty Ha! After the long CNY break, she is back in UPM for her studies. Having said that, I remember the other day my sister told me that lots of her friends; mostly her coursemates are using Danish's photos as their PC's wallpaper, screensaver and some even for their presentations!

Man, I really should get myself those all right reserved and copyright stuffs and earn couple of bucks out of this instead! Haha, kiddin'...

On another note, aku & Honey nak ucap Selamat Pengantin Baru and our best wishes to our ex-schoolmates, Lyana & Komeng. Satu lagi pasangan jenan yang berjaya melangkah ke jinjang pelamin. Alhamdulillah. ( Correct me if I'm wrong, but takat ni aku rasa dah masuk 3 pasang high school sweethearts yang dah ke jinjang pelamin. A fact which somehow denies the cinta monyet theory whatsoever... ) Sori banyak2 sebab tak dapat attend majlis kenduri korang. Outstation. Walaucamne pon, doa kitorg bersama korang. Tu yang penting.

Apapon, moga kebahagiaan di antara korang berdua berkekalan hingga ke anak cucu, Amin.

p/s : Feb 14th. But we don't need a date to tell and show our loved ones how much we really love them, how much we really care. Why wait for Feb 14th when we can show it EVERY SINGLE DAY! Anyway, thanx for the advice Yan. I owe you one! Haha...

The Father Thing

Life as a Dad entails a few things that you need to be prepared for.

You don't find them listed in the parenting books often but they do seem to take on a peculiar importance in your life, often strangely and totally out of sync with their actual importance...

If you are a Dad be prepared to spend a significant part of your waking hours playing and mastering fiendishly complex games with obscure and difficult rules and many, many tiny pieces that never quite fit the way they do on the boxtop.

If you are a Dad be prepared to learn far more then you ever cared to about cartoons, cartoon characters, Japanese anime stylings, obscure cartoon villains and the bizarre universes they inhabit.

If you are a Dad be prepared for having the above two points intersect far more often then you would ever think possible(i.e. Sinchan, Doraemon and more....).

If you are a Dad be prepared to spend most holidays assembling intricate, highly complex toys that require the use of specialty screwdriver tips dug out the bowels of your toolbox. Said toys once assembled also will a) not work, b) not work long, or c) will not interest the boy for more than 8 seconds.

If you are a Dad be prepared for inflatable toys. You are expected to blow them up...again and again and again. I don't know if you've ever had to huff away at a slippery plastic valve, head pounding with the effort after 5 five minutes or so, a task rendered even more Sisyphian by the boy constantly leaping on the other end of the inflatable, making it leap like a gaffed fish and jet out huge quantities of air.... My best advice to new fathers - go buy a pump. Now.

If you are a Dad be prepared to watch your favorite foods vanish from your plate when your back is turned...sometimes even without your back being turned.

If you are a Dad be prepared that when THINGS GO WRONG, whatever they might be, it is, inevitably, your fault.

If you are a Dad be prepared to lose your favorite pillow and your position on the bed.

If you are a Dad be prepared to have your shaving cream regularly used for non-shaving purposes.

If you are a Dad be prepared to have more fun then you have ever had, more laughs, more tears, more anger and more emotional depths then you have ever experienced before.

In the end, being a Dad...is worth more then I can possibly tell.

To all new dads out there, all the best and have fun being one!

Random Ramble

Ahhhh!

Huh, I finally decided to come to work today despite realizing that most of the staffs would be on leave; having our office closed tomorrow for the CNY break. Sent an sms to Dana asking who'll be working on Monday. A reply from her read :

"Guess what dude? Only 6 people will be working on Mon. Are you coming in?"

Damn, 6 people in the office? What the heck. I'd rather save my leave and use it somewhere else. So, here I am,... in the office, in front of this PC wondering, what had happened to my blogging. I must say that I'm running out of idea on what to blog. Damn, it has been so incredibly hesitant to blog lately. There's really no logical explanation. So far I succeeded in putting the blame on the heavy load of burden at work which had someway, somehow kept me away from the net as to deny me from posting in here. But as I write, I'm really uncertain of that, if it can be called as an excuse. I've been reading other people's blogs like crazy though, and I've found a whole stack of new ones that drew me in and got me hooked. But yet, I can't decide on what to write in my own baby. Yan introduced me to blogging, I got some friends hooked up to it and they are know blogging like crazy... and now I'm the one pulling back?

Well, I found this somewhere while surfing the net...

"I quit smoking, but I can't quit blogging. If someone succeeds in quitting, don't tell my wife.
Posted by Carl on June 10, 2003 at 9:07 PM

and,

I've been blogging for more than a year. There are times that I think I spend too much time doing it. Times I think I should be doing other things. Times my wife bitches about it. Times I just don't feel like doing it. Times I get tired of the hate mail. Times I get tired of the stupid people who pose stupid arguments and then call me an idiot.

But before I can even form a coherent thought about quiting, I realize, I'll always have something to say and I'll want a place to say it, though I may not feel that way everyday, why deprive myself of my place to say it? It's not like I get paid for this, so I can take a break any time I like. I don't even worry about the traffic any more (I used to fret that if I didn't post every day, my audience would whither away ... I just don't worry about that anymore ... if people read my shit, great ... if not, I'm OK with that).

and this one by Trinity,

Hmm, been blogging for a year and a half. There were times I thought about quitting. One time, Dean posted a comment and said that I wouldn't do it if I didn't like it. He was right. I DO like it! And, dammit, I can't get away from it, even when I want to. Blogging gets in your blood, man. And those bloggers who do stay around for a year or more are the ones that have a lot to say...and will probably always have a lot of shit to say. We're blogaholics.

I guess all I need is a break!
See ya peeps! Enjoy your holiday!!!
