CHICKEN LICKEN!

Was on the way to work this morning when I heard an add on MIX that the KFC's Hot & Spicy has FINALLY to make its comeback. All the while, after KFC has introduced the Tomyam flavor, the Hot & Spicy was discontinued as the Tomyam was supposed to replace it completely. Its either, Original or Tomyam, that's it! Oh man... It was kinda a major upset to most of us since the Tomyam flavor wasn't much of a steal compared to the Hot & Spicy. I had one bad experience eating KFC's Tomyam at Bentong. Gosh, it feels like the rempah you have in the Mee Maggi or something. The only thing that KFC offers that I'm not afraid to eat anymore during that time was the mashed potatos, drinks, and fun fries. Other than that, omigod!

I'm not sure if you guys heard this, but one of the reasons commercial fried chicken is so tasty is that they inject it with flavorings right after slaughter. Kinda like butterball turkeys. Not sure with KFC though. But then, KFC is always prone to get controversial stuffs like this. Used to be the JAKIM approval issue, the slaughtering doubt and the list goes on. Ntah la. I guess the key is, yakin je la. Kalau tak yakin kang, jadik syubhat plak. Wallahu A'lam

And hey, thanx to Azmie, I just figured out that I got my own Japanese name. Cool eh?

My Japanese name is Ashihei Arishima.

Take The Kawaii Japanese Name Generator by Shuichigami today!

KEJE, KEJE & KEJE!

Looks like Yan has tendered her resignation letter yesterday. She's almost certain to leave at the end of next month then. Talking about job, here's a job survey that I came across while on the net this morning.

Are You In The Wrong Job? - Ask Yourself These 7 Key Questions :

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself if you are in the wrong job? Too many times people go to school, get a job in their chosen field and end up spending the bulk of their adult working life feeling miserable. Here are seven questions to get you thinking about how well-matched you are to your current job.

1. Do you look forward to Monday morning?
I know that this may sound crazy, but hear me out. Of course every job has times when you wish you could be somewhere else. There is no such thing as the perfect job. Realize, however, that people who find their job fulfilling and rewarding look forward to beginning their workweek. This is not because they are crazy, it's because they become energized when working in an environment that is a good match for them.

2. Do you find it easy to get along with co-workers?
Whenever you get a team of people working together there is bound to be some type of conflict from time to time. The question then becomes, how often do you find yourself "locking horns" with your co-workers? If you find yourself fighting with team members on a regular basis, it may mean that you are working in an emotionally toxic environment, or your coworkers are not communicating effectively with you, or you are not effectively communicating with your coworkers, or a combination of all of these.

3. Have you noticed that you are taking more personal and sick days than when you first started work?
Are you burning up your sick and annual leave faster than you can accrue it? Think back to when you first started at your current job. How often did you take sick and annual leave compared to now? If you have noticed an increase, ask yourself why. You might be tempted to say that you are taking more time off now because you earn more or because of your seniority -- these are not valid reasons. I'm sure you know someone at your company who has been there for less time than you and has built up hundreds of hours of leave time. A potential "red flag" is when you have an extremely limited amount of release time on the books.

4. Are you performing tasks that you enjoy and come naturally to you?
Are you a "people person" but your job has you locked in a cubicle analyzing stacks of data? Do you like to meticulously plan your work day, but find that you are constantly having to cast your plans into the wind and manage continual crises? These are just two examples of many potential situations where you might be in an environment that is a poor match for the way that you prefer to behave.

5. Do you hate your boss with a burning passion?
Sure, everyone reading this will occasionally have disagreements with their bosses. This is different than actively hating your boss. If you constantly have mean and vicious thoughts about your boss, you will have a tremendous challenge being productive and feeling satisfied in your job.

6. Does the mission of the company fit your personal values?
It is awfully difficult for you to be committed to your work when it conflicts with your personal values. For example: do you support protecting the environment, but the company you work for is a major polluter? You may despise firearms, but your company makes parts that are used in the manufacturing of handguns. A constant conflict of values can be difficult, if not impossible, to tolerate for long periods of time.

7. Do you feel valued as an employee?
EVERYONE needs to feel valued as an employee. Unfortunately, companies and managers often lose sight of this. Ask yourself when the last time was that you were complimented for a job well done. Does your boss or management appreciate your loyalty and dedication? If you do not feel valued, chances are that you will become de-motivated and adopt a "do-the-minimum-to-get-by" attitude.

These questions are intended to be a catalyst for you. If you do not like your answers to these questions, ask yourself one more -- what can YOU to do improve your situation at work? Remember, if your work life is not what you want it to be, you are the only one who can take the action necessary to make it better.

:-))

Oh boy, here I go again! Not knowing what to write or what to type in here. How many times have you sat at your desk and stared in front of your PC at the blank posting in your blogger account? The one running thought in your mind is that you just don't have anything to write about - right? Been there, still often do that. It's either "this idea has been done over and over," or "I don't have anything I can write about." Yes, you know what I mean. You've been there, and may be there right now. Arghhh...

Damn, feel like living in a cave or something. Couldn't think of anything. But then again, even if living in a cave you could come up with something don't you think so? Sigh...

I'll be going to Kulim next Sunday. I'll be sending my brother who's pursuing his studies over there. Haven't been there before. I could use some tips especially some info regarding the acommodation over there dgn sapa2 yg familiar dgn Kulim. Calling Kulim's otai! Anyone?

England Devastated!

.

The worn and weathered penalty spot contributed to their penalty woes in last night's EURO2004. Didn't seem to trouble Portugal who won 6-5 on penalty shootout to book their place in the semi finals! and damn,...

shouldn't Sol Campbell's goal stand?

Smoggy

I believe I have managed to calm down enough to actually attempt to write this again. But then it really sorta spoilt my mood a bit. I was like writing something in my blog, publishing it and then, took it of when the thought of writing about something else came in mind. Something which I'm not even sure of.

Shit, I am really tired of hearing the term, "weapons of mass destruction". I mean, it sounds so looneytoonish. I'd almost prefer to hear the full list in detail. Biological weapons, nuclear weapons, etc whatsoever. Using that term is like calling Christmas, birthdays, and anniversaries, "Holidays when one receives gifts." It just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Work has been insane after all that happen and I was dead tired this whole week. So intent on getting sleep this few days that I now feel guilty for not joining my dudes futsal-ling too much. Well, I was going last night, but a friend wanted to see me at the menara got in the way of that. But again, it's EURO what. Who cares about futsal no more? Yan is off for a job interview at Mahathir's son's office. Can't wait to hear the outcome since she's so desperately trying her best to look for a new job. Let's just hope that everything goes well for her.

There is smog everywhere. If it weren't for the humidity, the lovely masses of trees, the lack of multitudes of awful people, and the dearth of palm trees, I'd swear I was back in KB again. For the last few months we have been having multiple 'code red' ozone days, complete with insanely hot weather. After what happened in the Sumatera, things got even worse with the air pollution and you see smoke everywhere as if you were in the Pudu Bus Station or something. Hopefully, it won't be as bad as the one we had in '98. Make me wonder, what is it with these people and their burning anyway?

I hear thunder in the distance, maybe it will rain tonight and cool things off a bit.

I'm Blogless!

I feel like I should write something, but I can't really think of anything. AND it's already 17:20! All I did today was blog-hopping, hoping to get some ideas. But it ain't coming. Must be the weekend. So, I guess I'll just leave it this way and hopefully, tomorrow or the day after, I'll get some stuffs to fill in here.

But hey, I've to leave my laptop at the office for the weekend so Janet can get it fixed. So, I guess I won't be updating my blog for the weekend after all. Lately, the screen would suddenly blink and the image would go astray. It looks like the images you see in The Matrix or someting if you know what I mean.

Or, is my laptop tryin' to tell me somethin'?

F.O.L.L.O.W.T.H.E.W.H.I.T.E.R.A.B.B.I.T....!!!

Ha,ha... Cheers people. Signing off for the weekend!

My Old Men

Called my mum this morning while I was in the traffic on my way to work. She said that my Granpa is still in the hospital. And he's gonna undergo a laser operation next week. SuTee took the last flight to KB last night to see how bad he was doing. Hopefully, everything will turn out fine for him. Had a weird dream last night. I was in this place I'm not sure of. Everything felt so stiff and lifeless. It looked like an old, classic hospital with no one around. And it was like deja vu when I woke up for my Subuh prayer. Dunno why. Told Honey about it and she said that is must have been the new curtain in our room that she hang up yesterday evening. Sigh.

Lately I get lots of weird, unexplainable dreams. The night before I had a dream that our baby was a boy. In the dream, we were like cramming our heads thinking of a name for the baby and finally, BINGO!... a name came up. I remembered that both of us was very happy and satisfied with the name that I almost certainly ran to JPN to register our baby's name - by bare feet! The walk was like forever and I was so exhausted and thirsty that I woke up from my sleep, jumping out from bed and headed to the fridge for water. It was 5 o'clock in the morning back then. The thing is till now, I couldn't even remember what the name in the dream was. Damn.

This morning, my wife asked me if my dad is gonna come home when we got our first baby; his first grandchild. I was speechless. The fact is, I'm really not sure. As harsh as it may seem but only the family knows what make him fly and work in UK for the last 5 years and never came back. My mum went to visit him there during her umrah last year. For me, It's better of for him that way than having him in front of us seeing him suffer and endure all the pain he had to go through because of us. At 15, I learnt the mean, nasty and cruel side of human being. And my dad was the prey of those f**king bastards. A consequence of working with people full of malice and hatred in their heart - the sad thing about Malay attitudes in bussiness. Shit, I'm outta here!

p/s : Love you dad!

Gosh, finally I'm BACK!!!

Looking at my blog, it doesn't look too good! Make me look like I was lost in the desert or something. Didn't get the chance to go online too much during my outstation here. Just wrote a few drafts in my PC but didn't get to upload them in blogger. Am doing so as I write. Anyway, I'm expecting a few of my friend's blog to be released in a few days. Best of luck to all of you!

And yeah, the Dutch drawed with the Germans : 1-1 in last nite's EURO 2004. Nistelrooy did it with style with his 81st minute acrobatic volley! Superb!

OK guys, I'm back on track!
See ya in a while!

Rain On Me!

Thanx god. It's raining again this morning back at my mom's place in KB. God knows how nice it feels down here when it rains in the morning. Everything feels so wonderful. Cold! Most important thing is, you can get back to sleep and doze off like nobody cares. Good thing is, I've settled all my work at HUSM and I'm set to go back to KL tomorrow since my mom is also coming down to KL to accompany my sister for her enrolment at UPM.

Better get back to sleep people! It's Friday for god sake, day off for KB and all the east coast terittory. You all be good now. Sweet Dreams!
Zzzzzzzzzzzz....

Cik Siti Wan Kembang

Haha, she should be more popular than the crazed Siti Nurhaliza but I doubt that much know her as well as they know the latter. So much for the intro... I'm still in KB and I'm actually skipping my tea time to update this blog since I've got my 2nd session on the training here at HUSM. My immediate boss called my mobile just now. He said that there's bad news from the management meeting. It was later confirmed from an SMS from Lin. No bonus, no increment this year? Oh yeah? Haha, he was expecting me to sound surprise I guess. Damn, everything was too obvious from the start. It doesn't take an Einstein or a Copperfield to discover that out for god sake! Wasn't hoping too much on it really. I'll live with that!

Yesterday I went to see my kakak angkat's little boy aged 1 week - Nik Adam. She was so cute that my wife wanted to kiss him rite away as soon as we saw him. It felt so weird the moment she put the little child on her lap. A feeling that I couldn't even describe. It was so wonderful!

Damn, my time's up. Gotta run y'all! And to yanz and fashah, I've already bought the DVD player. Gonna return your VCD soon yanz! Keep in touch!

Cancer What???!

I've learnt from my mom that my Granpa is suffering from tongue cancer. Damn, it's everywhere isn't it? Breast, Brain, Liver and now, TONGUE? Shit, I wonder what's next. When I met him, I knew that it was kinda serious since it effected him verbally. It was quite hard to understand what he was saying and somehow I could see the pain in his eyes.

Called him Ayoh my entire life, he was such a fighter but then after my Granma passed away it kinda changed his personality completely. He's no longer the fighter he always was. He tend to woe and whine over a small headache he had and sometimes even flu. That's how vulnerable my old man is now. It's true what they say that strength is all in your mind.

May god bless him always and cure him from the disease he suffers.
Amin.

PHEWWW!

Just came out from the department meeting. What a relief! Lucky me, didn't get 'tiau'-ed too much from my boss compared to two of my division's colleage. Followed Thariq's advice - went to see my boss one day extra before the meeting. That kinda cools things a bit no matter how big your shits are!

My cousin's wife gave birth to their first child early this morning @ HKL. 4:10 am to be precise. Guess what,... another baby boy to do some catching up with the female populations! Went there with my wife at 10pm and waited till 2 in the morning but still no sign of the baby coming out. Only great, stressful pain. My wife was like, Omigosh... takutnye. Last thing I knew as we were in the car heading home, I notice that her mind was thinking about the whole delivery thing. And she started to talk crap about if anything happens to her when her time comes, about me being a single father and all her wasiats and stuffs. I just went, "Isk, you jgn cakap macam ni boleh dak?" with my feet stepping on the paddles at 140 on the freeway! Nuts!!! With me driving the way I was last nite, we both won't live that long to write the wasiats and all for all I care... hate it when people starts talkin morbid. Arghhh... malas cakap pasal ni la, change the topic.

Tomorrow I won't be in since our deparment is having our 14th OBGYN Congress at Times Square till Saturday. Sunday I'll be out to the east coast for my outstation and I'll be back in the office hopefully on the 15th. Not sure if i'll get the chance to update my blog or not in between my outstation trip. Coz as all of us know, East coast is the heaven for food! Haha, I'll try my best.

So, see ya people!

Do We Have To Restrict Our Press?

Situation 1.
PM said govt to publish to the public all corruption cases which have been proven innocent to avoid suspicion. But then we have lost count of those corruption cases, which of them are proven guilty and why are they not published. In fact the public has never known how many corruption cases there are kept in the freezer to suddenly know only that are innocent.

Situation 2.
Noritta's mother switches off her TV to avoid listening the painful news about her daughter, but the father reads daily newspaper in seclusion in his orchard to learn the truth and keeps progress on her daughter's trial. None of them complained about media exploitation instead they accept the fact that truth is a bitter pill to swallow. To all of us who follow this case our symphathy is with Noritta's parents whom we see are one brave parents who have the courage to withstand the most painful time of their life.

Situation 3.
The Minister who made the suggestion to blackout news on court trials and others who voiced out strongly in support of the suggestion, none of them is doing things like going to comfort the victim's parents or at least visit them or give them some courage to endure the grief to wade through the troubled water. Which part of the court trial can be hidden from public knowledge and how would the media report a court case in their dailies? Will it looks like this?:

NORITTA MURDER TRIAL - Day 20, lawyers are still very much in cross-examination of Witness No. 44. All proceedings in camera. Stay tuned.

Situation 4.
When Astro was criticised for violence shows and fees increase there was one minister who was so quick to make remark against the popular voice calling for stern action, and said that government has no jurisdiction to take sanction on Astro. Somebody please tell these ministers that Astro's and major newspapers' owners are all their cronies that they happened to use their immunity to make use of opportunities to feed their big bellies too.

And yeah, If the parents of Norrita feel that these newspapers have unfairly sensationalized the trial and defamed their family in anyway, they have every right to take the papers to the courts and sue them. Right mate?
