The Living Years
First and foremost, alhamdulillah and congrats to my bro-in-law Taufik & Kak Anne on the birth of their 3rd baby, Aqilah Elmin Safiah. Congrats! Now yet again, you guys get to enjoy the involuntary adult onset insomnia for a couple of months. ;) Hahaa, that's one way of putting it...
And damn, I love the name Safiah! Tapi apo nak buek, first come first serve. Heh... Couldn't find the photo of the cute little thing in my laptop here. Must've been in the one at home then. Ahh kids, they light up your soul every time you lay eyes on them. Everything that can ruin a day is washed away with a simple hug.
Speaking about baby, my brother Pie had finally changed the thought of naming his baby Wan Nur Hafickqa to Wan Nur Damia; which I must say sounds better. Well, can't blame him munc. Giving a name for your baby can be a headache, really. One day you're like "that's it,... we will call him bla bla... " and the next thing you know you're in the middle of "lai lai li tamplung" with your wife, or to make matters ever worse; with your family members deciding on what to name your baby! I mean, during my childhood days it would be a norm to kinda "lai lai li tamplung" kalau mum or tok mek suruh pi kedai beli barang ke apa ker,... but think about it, when it comes to this?! Damn...
Some updates on my 'baby' now - Danish Haiqal! Danish is becoming more and more verbal and it's so much fun to be a part of. It seems like every day he's spouting off with more and more words in his repertoire.
Danish is at that stage where we won't think he's listening and the next thing we hear is him repeating some words that we just said. It's so much fun to see him growing and learning and trying new words despite being playful and all.
My favorite word that he says is when he says "no no no" with the finger gesture as well as the head. That was one of the way we taught him when it comes to things that he can and can't do. Of course, when he said it, it was more like " Nowww nowww nowwww..." and even that really doesn't do justice to show how cute he sounds when he talks.
Another thing that we both taught him is to put his hands on his nose and say 'ucukkk...' everytime he fart and it was like one hell of a joke to see him do that. The other day we we had this small family gathering, there was one of the family members who suddenly farted. And it comes to no surprise when Danish did his thing and everybody just laughed till tears came out their eyes. The guy just went like "Ishhh Danish ni... lain kali nak kentut kena spotcheck dulu la Danish ada ke tak... kalau tak, turun saham aku...!
One thing me & Hani try to do is, instead of telling him no and correcting him when he mispronounces a word, we just repeat the word with the correct pronunciation. Usually he will keep trying until he gets it right. That's my boy!
