Again and Again...

Nampaknye blog aku tak update lagi la next week. I'll be in Kuantan for 3-4 days for my outstation trip. Mungkin akan bring up to one week jugak kat sana. Aku pon tak pasti. Depending on work. Minggu lps tu pulak dah cuti raya cina. I'll be off for about a week. The company granted all of us a leave on Tuesday. So, I'll just need one day of my expiring carried over leave to make it a long one week horray! Thumbs up to those with 5-days a week working days. Jangan mare Yan!

Selamat Menyambut Awal Muharam & Happy Chinese New Year!

Have A Nice Break!

Regards,
Acid

The Boy Who Gave Birth to His Own Twin

THURSDAY isn't always my favourite day of the week. But in TV terms it was the best this time.

I HOPE parents-to-be weren't watching Discovery Channel last night. Because if I was, I'll be damn freak out! Serius cakap...

There was this documentary called The Boy Who Gave Birth To His Twin. Alamjan Nematilaev, a seven-year-old boy from Kazakhstan, was the star of the show. For seven years the little boy had a large stomach, like a pregnant woman.

Finally his mother took him to the doctors and surgeons removed what they thought was a huge cyst.

On closer inspection they found hair and limbs inside the sac. Doctors found that growing inside Alamjan was his own twin, a condition known as foetus in fetu, literally meaning 'a baby inside a baby'. It showed the foetus in detail, which was uncomfortable but compelling viewing.

For seven years a deformed foetus was growing and acting like a parasite in the boy's body.

The Kazakhstani doctors were baffled and an American pathologist was flown over to decide if it was a cancerous tumour which however unlikely, could grow hair and teeth.

Alamjan was healthy - and it was no tumour but Alamjan's twin inside the sac. Early in his mother's pregnancy the twin had not developed properly. It had no heart or brain, just stunted arms, legs, a barely formed face and masses of hair. It had become entangled in Alamjan when he was a developing foetus and attached itself to his blood supply, living as a parasite.

It was technically a baby, but could not survive outside its host.

GOSH! It must be quite something to discover you've been walking around all your life with your twin inside you. A strange feeling no doubt. Can we really think of Alamjan's twin as just that, a twin? Technically the answer is yes. A foetus in foetu, or baby within a baby, is a developmental hiccup that happens very rarely to identical twins. But the mistake comes so early in development that the twin inside never really had any chance of being a real live twin. Here we take a look at the pitfalls of embryonic development and reveal just what a rocky road it can be.

Another outstanding documentary by CH50 whose programmes just continue to get better and better. Well, not advisable tea time viewing, but a fascinating take on human science. Anyone catched the documentary on Ladan & Laleh Bijani in Dying To Be Apart?

Sob, sob...

He's OK!

That smile kinda explains everything aite? Haha...

Gosh, that draft took damn long to publish. That was suppose to be published on Jan 12th. I'm losing grip of blogging man... Just couldn't find the right time to do so, and even if I did, half way blogging and there's always something to stop me and get in the way; say meetings, appointments and whatever! If that's not enough how about laziness - a whole lot of it! At the end of the day, there's always pile of half-written drafts saved over and over again. I'm stressed out!!!

Man, my blogging sucks!

Turning 4

One more week and Danish is turning 4 months old. Which means, he's in schedule for his shots, AGAIN! Our doctor was so happy to see us! She even asked us if we were showing up late for Danish's check up, which apparently showed how much she missed us for that matter. Ahhhh sooo cute. (Come on... admit it doc!) Alhamdulillah, the check up went on fine with everything turned out to be okay. Danish's growth progress is also looking good. The guy is 6.3kg now! That comes to no surprise judging on how much he drinks everyday. After the check up, she talked about about parenting, family planning together with her own experience as a parent which was really interesting. Some where hillarious too! Man, either she like us very much, or she was just feeling bored with the lack of patients in her clinic! Either way, I told Honey if one day we are rich enough, we'll gonna take her and her husband as our family's personal doctor. That would be nice eh?

As for Danish, yeah... the poor guy is suffering fever again resulting from the shots. So after the check up, we stopped by Guardian to get him the Cool Fever Patch - a hydrogel-based non-pharmaceutical product designed for temporary fever relief which provides a continuing and anti-febrile effect. Yeah, the one you stick on your head! And that night, Danish did get a fever after all. But that ain't stop this boy from smillin' aite?

I know, I know,...!

Haha, Ayzan & Yan ckp aku dah break aku punye new year resolution siang siang lagi! Work has been so damn busy that kinda prevent me from upholding my new year resolution. After my two colleagues resigned, I've to fulfill their shit here and there. I've to meet a number of people and drive here and there and continue on whatever they have left to keep the company on track while awaiting for new staffs to fill in their seats. On another note, I ate well last night - Honey preppared an excellent dinner, got hiccups while driving to work, discovered a new way to tie my tie, got in touch with lots of people and discovered the date of another friend's wedding.

Last weekend, Honey's sister, Kak Hanim and family came over. Saje drop by since raya ari tu diorang tak sempat nak datang (neither did we!); having their raya spent at their kampung in Parit Buntar. Kak Hanim said that Little Aisyah missed Danish so much that nampak je mana2 budak kat kampung, she will call out Danish's name. Haha, kids... so cute! Danish plak masa Aisyah datang asyik dok belek2 tangan dia je. A new hobby which will keep him kusyuk that both of us found him so keen of doing a day or two before last year ended.

Danish is starting to be more playful now and dah start marah2 kalau takde orang nak layan dia main. The little chap is starting to learn to grovel but haven't really succeed in doing so on his own; which make him so pissed that he would cry after he got tired trying. And wallaaa, that is suppose to be an I'm-pissed-and-I-wanna-go-to-sleep-now signal to mum and dad!

Today was just another busy day at work. Lots of hours hours on the road and several hours in the office. I was tired already on the way home - so was a bit over the top. I'm overloaded and needed, and dizzy and unsure. My task list is ticked but there's always more. I want coffee, a soft pillow, nice dreams and a long retreat. My eyelids are dropping. I'm desperately waiting for next week to come since I'll be on a one week leave, fly to my mom's and be there till raya haji! Headache, headache!

Ooo boy, I'd like a hug! ;)

New Year Resolution : Blog more

Happy New Year! I know, I know... everybody has been tellin me that I have been blogging less in the past couple of weeks. Kinda on and off sort of thing. Huh, like I didn't know that :-P
So, I am posting this for a number of reasons. First, it is a placeholder for some real content, so that my blog isn't empty when we turn to 2005 ;)

Next, it is like a commitment. if I say that I will blog about what I have been doing while not blogging, I will probably be obligated to do so ;)

Again, this is sort of like a new year's resolution to blog more. Fine, I don't really do those resolution, but I also promise to blog why is that, only later ;)

And at the end, happy new year to all of you that believe in all that crap! (I know I don't ;) Here's some new year's pose to start the new year...

So long,... happpy new year peeps! I'm outta here!!!

Take care!
